1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Wireless electricity transmitter

Wireless electricity transmitter

The solution is based on energy expansion technology. It works through wireless electricity transmission which sends electromagnetic signals to pre-installed receivers. This can enable electricity access to areas otherwise hard to reach with the main grid and rely on fossil fuels to generate energy.

Off-grid agricultural harvest storage

Off-grid agricultural harvest storage

A significant source of loss of income in the Indian food production sector is due to inadequate cold storage solutions. To solve this, MOISTORE has been developed. This solution is a decentralized off-grid and portable post-harvest cooling storage unit with an edible coating that decreases the respiration rate of the harvest. The closed chamber maintains the required moisture and temperature using a solar panel as a power source with a complementary battery for power stability. The power consumption of MOISTORE is approximately 1% compared to traditional cold storage units.

Tubular PEM fuel cell with a small footprint

Tubular PEM fuel cell with a small footprint

Traditional Proto-exchange membrane designs have several issues related to them. With this in mind, Elicius Energy has developed a lightweight and air-breathing tubular Proto-exchange membrane (PEM). The tubular design eliminates the need for the traditionally used bipolar plates that comes with significant water and heat management issues. By replacing these, many issues are removed as well as allowing air to be transported between individual cells, which prevents overheating and letting the fuel cell operate at ambient temperatures. In addition to the beforementioned, the new design can lead to reduced system costs.

Smart charger for 2- and 3-wheeled electric vehicles

Smart charger for 2- and 3-wheeled electric vehicles

The innovation is directed at the electric vehicle (EV) market. It’s the development of an intelligent communication protocol between the battery and the charger of EVs which will enable remote monitoring of the battery condition and charging levels using an app. This will give the user more information about the loading performance and timing of their batteries. Potential overcharging or undercharging can be avoided through improved information systems.

Zinc ion battery

Zinc ion battery

Cost efficient, eco-friendly, robust batteries that power renewable energy/micro-grid, telecom towers & electric vehicles. Our first invention is a ‘ZincGel® battery’, that combines innovation in electrolyte, democratized material and electrode design, leading to breakthrough in dnergy density, power density and energy efficiency at a very cost-effective end user price. We have modified 150 year old zinc and Manganese-Dioxide chemistry to cater to the current energy storage opportunities. Our plan is to prove ZincGel battery’s strength in a few business cases by running small scale pilots. This data will establish our credibility and strength over other competition.

Small scale low head vortex hydro power

Small scale low head vortex hydro power

In order to provide off-grid locations with stable electric power, Stallion Vortex has developed a small-scale hydropower plant. The solution utilizes the principle of creating a vortex to extract energy from water streams. It can operate with a high efficiency with a height difference of the water stream of 5 meter, making it viable in many locations with limited access to larger sources of water. According to the company, their product requires minimal maintenance after installation, and it require little to no manual control to function to its full potential.
