1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

These technologies have however a limited market space due to the lack of enough windiness in most areas, as well as a negative visual impact on the environment. . Will offers a new concept of wind turbine, that improves the technology both in efficiency and visual impact: its innovative design will allow the installation and inclusion of wind turbines in urban environments... We believe that this new feature will help reducing per-capita food waste, making it easier for the everyday worker to bring food from home. Indeed, our backpack aims to blend together the best qualities of a fashionable backpack (captivating design and ease of transport) with the ones of a cool bag (thermal food and drinks isolation). Finally, consistently with our green vision, all our products will be made of eco-friendly materials, thus further reducing our ecological footprint... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Residential Biogas wrote: We provide apartment residents with biogas for cooking that is produced from local organic waste. An anaerobic digester that will be part of the buildings initial design will provide biogas produced of local organic matter directly to apartments in residential buildings. By using unique designated home "trash can", the system will make waste disposal easier. It will transport home organic waste directly to a smart digestion unit and will provide clean energy in the form of biogas to apartment units for cooking. The system will provide a solution for the organic fraction of the solid waste from residential buildings on the one hand and will reduce the consumption of the current cooking energy on the other hand... Today, more than 500 years later, pelenergy is revolutionizing the way greenhouses are heated. We have developed a unique method of capturing and storing solar heat for use on demand. Our system arrives in a shipping container which has been specially designed to be easily moved and assembled, and is compatible with any standard greenhouse system. Hexafly is developing new material sources for the aqua feed, chitin and plant nutrition industries from the sustainable farming of insects. Chitin is a high-value bio-polymer with many uses in medicine, cosmetics and as a food additive. In the next few years, Hexafly predicts that the exponential increase in demand for fish food will far exceed supply. Industry will not be able to meet this demand due to declining wild fish stocks, stricter fishing quotas and an increase in material costs. The aim of the innovation is to bring an insect farming revolution to the world and find smart ways to feed the planet.
