1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

We make a smart machine and a smart bottle (yes, they work in pair). We create a smart bottle that can be a cup and a bottle (cuple again!). . And we want to couple business and responsibility of both consumers and producers. We aim to create our bottle mainly of retrieved and recycled plastics and/or metal, we are designing a low-energy consuming, recyclable and modular smart vending machine, and a back-end that will support you to seamlessly take any drink with your bottle. Culture in motion

Culture in motion wrote: The vaporetto provides a solution to reduce and diversify the visitors flow. The vaporettoproposes a cultural visit where the visitor educates himself through different activities (in our case in venice). Several immersive rooms inside the boat offers to the visitor interactive games. The vaporetto is self-powered by solar and kinetic energy. This energy can be used by other boats working in the venetian territory. Our overall goal is offering to visitors the opportunity to discover new places around venice, minimizing the visitors flow and allowing other boats to use our energy to charge themselves... Crowdsourced Elevation Data

All4Elevation wrote: All4elevation wants to provide accurate and affordable elevation data for better flood predictions and offer it as a service to public and private organisations. We are doing this by combining smartphones, satellite navigation and the power of the crowd. Together with the european space agency we are developing a crowdsourced mobile application which allows to turn smartphones into “smart sensors being able to conduct elevation measurements by utilising potentially millions of phones. The data is gathered and further enriched in our global database before it is offered as a service to our customers with a pricing model accounting for the accuracy, timeliness and application of the data... Of course, public transport could be integrated into the system right from the start, and it can be upgraded to freight services. The goal is to bring the speed and usability of the transport as close as possible when using our own vehicle. Users appear in the system in two roles - as a passenger and as a driver. The driver was willing to share the vacant seats in his car, and the passenger had to route the system through those seats in a number of public transports to the rail destinations. The ideal user uses both roles. For interaction between passenger and driver is by smartphone application... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon

Industrial Nature wrote: The company has researched and developed three types of insulating crop-based construction blocks. These are unique in that they both insulate, store heat, provide structure and passively regulate temperature and humidity - all with local and natural materials. They outperform conventional insulation materials and have a better than zero carbon footprint due to the carbon sequestration in the crop-based aggregate. They. Are also better than zero waste because they can be reprocessed or recycled at end of life. They are designed to positively disrupt the global mainstream building sector...
