1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Sello Sol a certification developed by Phineal allows tracing the solar energy generation on its place of origin through the use of blockchain technology. The data is measured and processed to add value by using it in products, services and transactions as verifiable, transparent and secure information. Phineal states that the blockchain methodology has been tested by companies and public institutions and it is being developed in Latin America for the world

Cosmocrops has developed a new production system that can produce biodegradable plastic (bioplastic), without the use of plants or field space. Our new and innovative production system relys on two microorganisms who can work together, and by the use of solar energy and co2 from the air produce bioplastic. By selling this bioplastic to the danish food packaging industry, we can decrease the amount of conventional plastic used, while providing a much more sustainable solution... The population in the Himalayas largely base their heating on coal or wood, which is problematic due to deforestation and air pollution among other things. In addition to having using several techniques for improving the efficiency (such as pre-heat airflow channels and bell-effect heat trapping), The Rocket stove has a secondary combustion chamber where unburnt material is used to provide otherwise lost heating energy, which reduces fuel demand by 50% and smoke pollution by approximately 90%.

ECOLOO is a toilet that is waterless, sewage free, energy free and requires low maintenance. The toilet is not using any water for flushing, the only water that could be required is for secondary functions such as cleaning the toilet or for personal hygiene. All the human waste is broken down to tiny particles and can then be used as fertilizer. The solution avoided emissions by reducing the need for fresh water for flushing, eliminating the need to treat sewage water and by creating fertilizers when being used.
