1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Traditional Proto-exchange membrane designs have several issues related to them. With this in mind, Elicius Energy has developed a lightweight and air-breathing tubular Proto-exchange membrane (PEM). The tubular design eliminates the need for the traditionally used bipolar plates that comes with significant water and heat management issues. By replacing these, many issues are removed as well as allowing air to be transported between individual cells, which prevents overheating and letting the fuel cell operate at ambient temperatures. In addition to the beforementioned, the new design can lead to reduced system costs.

There will be monthly themes and competitions, with small rewards (for example free concert within neighborhood from local band). These events will be an opportunity for learning, sharing skills and engaging the community which eventually will lead to co-creation. We focus on the creation and communication of stories which show how neighborhoods take the steps to reduce their energy consumption and begin the creation of localised energy sources. We utilise all possible communication platforms to spread the message. To reach the final goal of of creating postivie energy neighborhoods... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon

Waste Into Treasure wrote: We turn biodegradable waste that is collected separately, like apple cores and peels or hops leaves, into a leather like material. The mechanical process has been improved and used by a few companies which still offer only small amounts and high prices, that’s where we want to differ. Our goal is to enable a circular economy by connecting waste management with product designers thus reducing waste and minimizing the need for animal leather production and processing. Through our research we found that the demand for sustainable clothing is on such a huge rise that market no longer needs educating on its importance yet there aren’t enough suppliers to cater to the consumers needs... The innovation is directed at the electric vehicle (EV) market. It’s the development of an intelligent communication protocol between the battery and the charger of EVs which will enable remote monitoring of the battery condition and charging levels using an app. This will give the user more information about the loading performance and timing of their batteries. Potential overcharging or undercharging can be avoided through improved information systems.
