1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Intelligent tag to show food freshness

Oscillum wrote: Oscillum is a biotechnology company that focus its activity on the food safety industry. We are developing smart labels that once placed in contact with fresh food such as fish and meat it will measure the estate of that product and will notify consumers whether their food is edible or not by a simple color change. Our idea is to develop a more efficient system to prevent food wasting. Our labels are biodegradable, works into the packaging and once it is open and is very easy to use and to understand as it works by color changes... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Air purification by algae culture

Ciyé wrote: Our product is an ornamental element that helps companies and small business interested in improving their air quality in their environment by a natural air purifier that reduces air pollutants and increases the percentage of oxygen in their surroundings. The main elements of our prototype are water and algae spirulina, which consume co2, nox, pm10 and pm2. 5 in its growth and produce oxygen. The design of our product consist in a modular hexagonal cell that allows us to define the necessary size that the equipment must have as a whole depending on the air purification capacity of the site. A single group of four cellscan clean up to 500 kilograms of criteria pollutants (nox, co2, pm10 and pm2. 5) per year... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon

No more microfibres

PlanetCare wrote: Every time we wash our clothes – especially if we wash synthetic fabrics, we release millions of microparticles into the world water supply, that eventually ends up in the ocean. But it doesn't have to be that way. Because when we install our filter technology into the next generation of washing machines and when consumers put this filters into existing washing machines, we capture those microfibres before they're ever released. So that they can be disposed at safety and responsibly... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Our approach needs to change: why destroy something still functional instead of reusing it? the basic construction elements of many “out of use” buildings are still in really good shape and we want to put them to good use! . Our solution is in neighbourhoods where there are no recycle containers , provide people with some type of machine that will cut bottles into long and thin stripes . Then people can easily carry this waste or you use is as a helpful tool in the garden . For an example gardeners can simply organize their workspace by keeping plant bonded by stripes. Everyone can use this strips for different purposes and no matter how old or who are you. Our team members observe this problem every day, cause we can feel this pain, living in different parts of town where people dont have any possibilities to sort waste...
