1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020
Wood Tube Sweden produces pulp-based studs for inside walls and furniture. The studs are similar to traditional wooden planks, but utilize a hollow design. It has a lower weight and price compared to alternatives and, due to the hollowness, its greather surface can be treated for improvement. The attributes can lower costs of construction while reducing environmental impact from heavy materials and newly-sourced timber.

Through the Woshapp app, Woshapp takes the car wash to the car and reduces the amount of water needed for each wash. The company goal is to revolutionize the way we clean cars using sustainable and environmentally friendly methods. On average it takes 1.5 hours to wash a car and in addition about 200 liters of water are consumed per wash. Woshapp service agents cycle to the car and carefully hand wash it in an environmentally friendly way, using only about 400 milliliters of water per wash, thereby saving 99% of the water consumed by a regular car wash. The method provides better quality than a mechanical car wash, avoiding the scratches that can occur.

The innovation utilizes high efficiency switching power in electricity meters. The market is aimed at replacing those that use inefficient linear power technology. The energy consumption of electricity meters decrease from 1.5W to 0.4W because of the new technology. The lower power rating of the electricity meters will mean less energy consumption and therefore, a greater energy savings from the lifetime perspective of the meter.

Food waste and nutrition recovery innovation through the use of biologically-produced enzymes. The concept is similar to 'farming' using an insect larvae of the black soldier fly. The larvae breaks down waste, creating a usable protein fixed in the insect. The larvae can be processed for a variety of feed uses as a sustainable additive. Instead of farming the solution on a large scale, the company aims to provide the service at the household level.
