1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

We will recycle these cigarettes into everyday items - pens etc. And sell them to average people for an inflated price as "bio" products. The "collectors" and "seekers" can buy these products with the points earned or they can withdrawl money from the service after they reach a certain point. We will be making cigarette urns and put them in the places were the seekers spotted a great amount of contamination. This will most likely a limited period event - like a contest who willl collect more cigarettes - with prizes for winners... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon

The Qpinch Industrial Chemical Heat Transformer is capable of recovering industrial waste heat from 75 °C and turn it into new process heat (e.g. steam) up to a temperature of max. 230 °C in a CO₂ neutral manner. Qpinch says that the solution is applicable on a megawatt scale throughout all major industries such as chemical, food etc. The company also claims to have the lowest total cost of ownership of all commercially available heat-producing technologies.

Roof gardens with photovoltaics help tackle air pollution, increase biodiversity and transform buildings into self-sustaining living units. As the capital of europe, brussels should lead by example. The solution consists of green solar roofs as a nature-based services approach to improving air quality, serving as a carbon sink, reducing energy consumption and empowering brussels residents with “green deal challenge competition”. The target is to make 50% of roofs’ usable surface ‘working’ for cleaner air, heat absorption, energy production and well-being of residents by 2025 through community involvement via win-win challenge competition...
