1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Grain storage monitoring

Grain storage monitoring

Crover wrote: Cereal grains are the basis of staple food, yet post-harvest losses during long-term storage are exceptionally high, above 20%, making storage the single phase from harvest to final product with the highest losses. This is responsible for about 6% of total greenhouse gas emissions from food waste. Crover is the first robotic device able to ‘swim’ through grains stored in bulk and autonomously monitor their conditions, helping grain operators like farmers and grain merchants maintain the quality of their stock... GOYTI. Sustainable mobility solutions

GOYTI. Sustainable mobility solutions wrote: Almost 3/4 of the population lives in urban areas where transport generates almost 50% of the pollutants that harm people's health. Actual vehicles to move around cities are inefficient and are underused so we address this problem by creating efficient, clean and safe mobility solutions for urban areas adapted to the real needs of the people. Materials used nowadays on vehicles construction come from finite resources as steel, aluminium and petrol; therefore these generate a huge carbon footprint and a unacceptable bad impact to the environment and to the people’s health and life quality... GoGreenExperts

GoGreenExperts

GoGreenExperts wrote: The problem: there are products marketed as “green” in most uk consumer segments, but some products are much greener than others. The companies providing the environmentally superior offerings struggle to get this message to consumers. . Our solution: a green product star rating system (like defaqto in the uk insurance market). We will become a trusted, independent, household name in providing green consumer advice. . Why now: there has been a large (and continuing) shift in consumer sentiment in the past 18 months. Many consumers now want to be sure they are making the right purchasing decisions for the environment, but there are no independent experts focussed on helping them make those decisions. ... Global Forest Bond

Global Forest Bond wrote: Deforestation is responsible for around 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Global forest bond developed a financial solution for landowners who have preserved forests to be payed by the environmental services provided in those areas, such as carbon capture and storage, water production, biodiversity protection, etc. . We use traditional brazilian agrobusiness financial tools, such as agribusiness receivables certificate (cra), making it possible for investors and companies to acquire the rights over the environmental services in the são paulo stock exchange (b3). This greatly reduces the transaction costs and increases trust. . Our certificates are issued yearly, for the environmental services provided in the year before... Geothermal building cooling system

Geothermal building cooling system

Geothermal Cooling System by Green India Building Systems and Services Pvt. Ltd. (GIBSS) is an innovative technology that replaces the rejection of heat to ambient air in the conventional systems by the rejection of heat to ground. In conventional air-conditioning systems, the cooling efficiency depends on atmospheric temperature. If the atmospheric temperatures are higher, efficiency of the air-conditioning system is lower and vice versa. The key innovation behind Geothermal Cooling System is the designing of a heat exchanger system that uses the earth temperature, which is much lower than atmospheric temperature to reject the heat. Lower temperatures significantly improve the efficiencies of the air-conditioning systems.

GeoAirCon wrote: With global-warming and population growth, air-conditioning (ac) demand is expected to triple by 2030. Consider the plight of 3. 5 billion people living in hot developing countries that need air-conditioning, but can't afford it. Further, acs are the biggest building ghgs contributor, accounting for 34% of total ghg emissions. There is a dire need to find sustainable means of mitigating & adapting to a hotter climate. Geoaircon is an innovative & cost-effective solution for providing air-conditioning to the masses. With geoaircon, the cooler underground is effectively utilized for cooling through specially designed heat exchangers.
