1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020
Planet Heat wrote: It's really difficult to extract energy from (or dump it to) surface water because that water is dirtier than it appears. Traditionally it has to be abstracted (requiring a licence) and centrifugally filtered before it can be used. Our new method removes the need for abstraction and filtration, extracting the heat from the surface water using a small, energy-dense, submersible device. Over the past three years we have heated a real home using over 12 prototypes as proof-of-concept. We also have a published uk patent application (gb2553416a) and all the signs are that full scope of the claims will be granted... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

The composite lpg cylinders made using fiber glass and has a lot of advantages such as 60 % lighter, maintenance free, and translucent. This lpg composite cylinder is the local technology which can prevent the gas leakage and improve the connection between cylinder and the nozzle for safety feature. Because of its light weight feature, the logistic cost will be reduced. In addition, less fuel will be needed to transport it thus reduces the carbon released to the environment. No maintenance needed means no chemical will be needed to refurbished the cylinders... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Moreover, most cooling gases used as refrigerants have a global warming potential up to 4,000 higher than co2. Alternatives are inefficient and explosive or toxic. Magnetic cooling uses a special metal which heats up and cools down by magnetizing and demagnetizing it. With a higher energy efficiency of up to 40% compared to the best gas compressor available, this technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we cool down our medicine, food, and premises. The overall cooling sector adds up to 300 bn us-dollar in turnover per year. Without using any harmful or problematic gases, magnetic cooling is low-maintenance, safe, and environmentally-friendly... This is one of the biggest problems– people are uninterested, especially the elderly, because they keep saying that they won't be around for long anyway and that it's not their problem anymore. But in fact, everything they do still adds up and continues to pollute the earth.
