1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Up to now, clearance of plastics is mainly done by incineration and accumulation in landfills. There is an evident and urgent need to find an efficient way to recycle it quickly, ecologically and cheaply. Our product, yased, fulfils these necessities as it provides a way high-capacity dissolving element which generates an end-product that can be purified and used as raw material for new products. Cool Energy have developed a low-temperature Stirling engine for distributed, on-site heat-to-electricity applications. Liquid or gas heat streams are converted into mechanical energy to produce electricity. According to Cool Energy, the system differs from other Stirling engines in that it is optimized to run at lower input heat temperatures than previous engines (150 °C to 400 °C fluids or gas up to 700 °C). The engines are a new approach to the well-known Stirling cycle, employing a new engine configuration, low-cost materials, non-combustion, self-lubricating components, a nitrogen working gas, and long service life.

These devices are environmentally friendly because of their use of renewable energy, whereby they convert solar energy into heat, as well as being relatively affordable, another plus is that this kitchen employs a simple technology that can be used in refugee camps, in addition to it's variable sizes. It can also assist in creating extra income resources through the production and selling of dried foods. Bio - Alkanol Gel Fuel wrote: It is estimated that in kenya, biomass fuels account for more than 90% of primary energy supply regardless of the adverse effects it has on the environment. Bio-alkanol gel is a thick liquid fuel which is a mixture of alkanol, cellulose and water. It’s an alternative biofuel which has been innovated so as to reduce kenya’s reliance on imported petroleum based products. Exploitation of sugars in mango, banana, watermelon, orange and papaya fruit peelings through microbial fermentation and egg shells as a source of bio-fuel is a novel undertaking. The conversion of fruit peeling cellulose biomass into cellulosic-alkanol and egg shells into calcium acetate (gelling agent) is an innovative way of turning waste into wealth. ...
