1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Reduction of losses in distribution grids

Reduction of losses in distribution grids

Dlaboratory’s solution register and visualizes incidents in the electrical grid, allowing identification and reaction to faults in the grid. This is done through monitoring of the distribution grid, where, according to Dlaboratory, most of the interference takes place. The collection of real-time data is then combined with an algorithm which analyses and categorizes events and generates a recommend course of action for the user. This solution can both help in reducing the number of incidents which lead to significant energy losses while also reducing the cost for operation and maintenance.

Toilets that seperate and collect urine

Toilets that seperate and collect urine

Urbantransitioners wrote: We partner with low-income communities like keko machungwa in dar es salaam to build toilets that separate urine. We then collect the urine and sell it as fertilizer to large scale farmers, subsistence farmers and gardeners. With our solution we help farmers to fertilize, irrigate and repel their crops. We also tackle the challenge of water scarcity, work for affordable sanitation and promote health and hygiene. . Our goal is that by the end of 2017 we have five farmers as early adopters using urine on their crops. Secondly, because we want to see dar es salaam as a lush and green city, we will built 10 000 toilets in dar es salaam by 2027. Ultimately, we aim to dry sanitize dar es salaam and make it an example worldwide... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Power balancing energy solution

Power balancing energy solution

Enequi has developed a ‘power balancing’ solution, which helps users make as much as possible of their energy. The solution includes a scalable battery which is automatically charged using power from the grid when the electricity cost is low, then to be used whenever needed. In order to integrate with solar and other renewable energy sources, the system is also able to store energy from granular production solutions. Furthermore, the power balancing also adapts the energy consumption in demanding processes to avoid overloading the system, thus enabling reduction of repair and maintenance.

Green Bang Snacks wrote: Green bang snacks is a company based in clean country with low pollution levels. It is lithuania. We started this company in order to produce organic healthy foods at an affordable price and do impact in food production technologies, food packaging technologies, achieve 0 waste emission, reduce ghg's and do impact on desertification by restoring forests. Right now we are working on plant-based organic snacks made from freeze dried berries, veggies and sprouted-roasted chick peas. We chose vegan snacks because plant-based food production need less resources and releases less ghg's. "the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. Ozone-based disinfection and odor removal

Ozone-based disinfection and odor removal

Ozonetech develops ozone-based solutions related to disinfection and odor removal from air and water for a wide range of industries. Their main solution, SMARTOZONE™ combines ozone treatment efficiency with cost minimization. The use of ozone as the main component have several benefits compared to traditional solutions such as chlorine (in water): More efficient in low concentrations, easily detectable for humans, and the fact that it reacts to form oxygen without any bi products.
