1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Reducing plastic waste

Reducing plastic waste

CIRCUP wrote: Every minute 1 million disposable coffee cups are thrown away. This makes more than 500 billion cups in a year. The eu will ban single-use coffee cups by 2030. More and more companies, coffee-shops and gas stations are looking for ways to reduce the number of disposable cups and support consumers using their own reusable mugs instead. Based on our customer surveys we know that the majority of end-users already want to use their own travel mugs but there are no easy and efficient ways in the coffee shops or gas stations to wash the mugs quickly. We have a solution! circup produces quick-wash machines for reusable coffee cups based on dry ice technology... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Integrated solar cooking/heating and battery

Integrated solar cooking/heating and battery

The AnnapurnaMPEP (Multi-Purpose Energy Pod) is a combined Sodium Nickle Chloride battery and Photo Voltaics solution with built in heat recovery. The unit can be used as an electricity back-up storage while the recovered waste heat from the Sodium batteries can be utilized for cooking purposes. The Energy Pod is built for low maintenance and has a predicted life length of at least 8 years. The innovation can be used for cooking and power back up in a typical rural home, replacing air polluting cooking stoves and fossil fuelled back-up generators.

Make Nyíregyháza greener

Green Day wrote: As an answer that we concluded we should have a community centre, office which deals with local orders, management of parks, green zones and issues about the general public being uninformed and unbothered. The general person only rarely hears about these issues in the news or the radio, but most of the time continues to ignore the facts. This is one of the biggest problems– people are uninterested, especially the elderly, because they keep saying that they won't be around for long anyway and that it's not their problem anymore. But in fact, everything they do still adds up and continues to pollute the earth. We believe that there has to be a place, an initiative that informs and moves people, teaches them and makes them act... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon

This makes us dependant on localized energy sources. Currently mankind is developing better energy capacitors and the best of them are made from lithium. The mining of lithium has already shown its harmful effects on our enviroment and it's a growing market therefore we propose an alternative solution to decrease the demand of batteries and therefore the demand for lithium... Automated solar panel cleaning

Automated solar panel cleaning

Feynman innovation has designed a semi-automatic and water-free cleaning robot for solar panels. Having a solar panel with connected batteries of its own, the robot is energy independent. To allow for a versatile and broad usage, the solution has a slim and light design and has a suspension system to be able to handle uneven ground. It is also designed in such a way that assembling and disassembling is to be possible to do within 20 minutes at any location. Furthermore, the solution includes a machine learning program with analyses dust patterns and provide cleaning schedule recommendations.
