1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Lagos, nigeria faces a sobering waste crisis that will only worsen as the city’s population of 18 million people continues to soar. The overburdened municipal government collects only 40% of city garbage and a mere 13% of recyclable materials are salvaged from landfills according to lawnma. Over 70% of solid waste is nylon and plastic materials. What we are is doing is to collect the nylon and plastic waste from organizations, stores and individuals. Evertherm SEW is an energy recovery system with focus on sewage water. The innovation can recover approximately 95 % of the energy spent in wastewater by removing it from the sewage system and recirculating it back approximately twenty times. Thereby reintroducing heated water into different systems and increasing it’s potential. The innovation also includes control system that allows it to be integrated with digitalized properties. The carbon fiber solutions replace heavier, lower-performance materials where it benefits the customer and saves the environment.

Our digital platform with an eco fee and share mechanism enables a competition for the lowest eco footprints: 1) the eco footprints of the users are measured mainly automatically on the basis of financial spending information, 2) the users monthly virtually pay for their eco footprints, 3) 100% of entire revenue are redistributed equally within the community ("ecoincome"). 4) finally, the users' surplus and deficit amounts are subject to real financial transaction. Positive effect: constant motivation for everyone to reduce their eco footprints... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

ECOLOO is a toilet that is waterless, sewage free, energy free and requires low maintenance. The toilet is not using any water for flushing, the only water that could be required is for secondary functions such as cleaning the toilet or for personal hygiene. All the human waste is broken down to tiny particles and can then be used as fertilizer. The solution avoided emissions by reducing the need for fresh water for flushing, eliminating the need to treat sewage water and by creating fertilizers when being used.
