1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

First class shuttle service

First class shuttle service

OXO wrote: Employers in metropolitan areas fail to find employees to live within a reasonable distance of their location. Due to the increasing growth of cities, real estate prices are rising. It is hardly possible to find affordable housing in the city area. The result: around 1. 8 million people in germany drive 60 km and more by car every day. . The consequences for the employees: little sleep from getting up early, stress due to traffic jams and almost no time for recreation and family. They spend more than ten hours per week on the road. . Oxo gives people their time back: a first-class shuttle allows to relax, get some private things done or even work productively... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Ozone-based disinfection and odor removal

Ozone-based disinfection and odor removal

Ozonetech develops ozone-based solutions related to disinfection and odor removal from air and water for a wide range of industries. Their main solution, SMARTOZONE™ combines ozone treatment efficiency with cost minimization. The use of ozone as the main component have several benefits compared to traditional solutions such as chlorine (in water): More efficient in low concentrations, easily detectable for humans, and the fact that it reacts to form oxygen without any bi products.

Most of them ends up on landfills and incinerators, what leads to pollution of air and water and also huge losses of resources. But what if there was an alternative? could you imagine a device that will convert those bottles into something you actually like?. Our company made this dream a reality with a simple device, that processes plastic bottles into cheap 3d printer filament. With three single steps – collect, process, print! – anyone can transform their garbage into anything they can dream of. This device not only reduces amount of waste, but also gives an attractive alternative for expensive printing materials... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Sustainable Packaging made from Jute

PackItGreen wrote: Plastics and synthetic materials harm our environment since decades and put a strain on the whole ecosystem and every individual. With the developing e-commerce sector we are facing another problem of too much plastic waste in packaging. Packitgreen develops and provides insulating packaging made from jute as a sustainable alternative to styrofoam. As b2b business we offer our packaging solution to online-shop providers, who sell and ship sensible goods e. G. Food to the end customer. These goods have to comply with certain temperature values during their transport to the customer. Therefore many sellers use styrofoam as a simple yet cheap packaging solution. Natural light inside buildings

Natural light inside buildings

Parans Solar Lighting offers sunlight for indoor environments through a system that captures and lead sun rays inside and through a property. The solution can also lead light far away from windows where it would otherwise not reach, and, according to their website, spreads the light to give a memorable experience. Using fibre optic cables connected to solar collectors on the roof of building, Parans’ solution can lead the light 100 meters into the building while retaining light quality and intensity.

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure

The Parking Energy innovation is a cable system that can be installed at existing parking infrastructure to enable EV charging capabilities. Large residential and office parking stations can be retrofitted to meet the needs of the growing EV fleet. The business is built around the charging as-a-service model, which is further made possible by allowing various types of charging stations to be installed rather than a singular coupling. The innovation can reduce emissions in urban areas by enabling the procurement of electromobility options.
