1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020
Sofa for Life wrote: Walking around in glasgow i was shocked to see the amount of flytipped sofas on the streets. Talking to users i found that this decreased lifetime is caused by an inability to clean, transport or repair sofas easily. Fire retardants turn the sofa into hazardous waste and therefore every single sofa ends up in landfill. . The ‘sofa for life’ is the better alternative. The user customizes the sofa online and continues to adapt the sofa to accommodate their change of style or life situation. The sofa fits in the boot of a car and the simple assembly does not require any tools. The cushions are machine washable and each part of the sofa can be exchanged and updated. The ‘sofa for life’ changes with the user and therefore prevents discard. ... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

The government is therefore trying to shift to alternate sources of energy. Solar irradiation absorbed in bangladesh is about 4-6(kwh/m2/day) and sunshine amounts to 2,500 hours per year. Yet, we see that most rooftops in the dhaka city has not installed solar panels despite the government incentives. Our solution focuses on addressing this major challenge with a participatory planning approach. We want to make solar potential maps using remote sensing and geographic information systems... If the solar pump passes through the fresh outside, preheated air, sunshine problem is solved!it's not just a preheat vent, but a solar powered heater. In this case the medium is gaseous - air. The air heated by the concentrated sunlight provides technical heat around the 200 ° c or at the desired temperature. It can provide solar energy for heating, industrial heat, which plays a major role in co2 emissions. SolarTracker provides a web service that evaluates the performance of solar power generating systems, using an artificial intelligence engine. It provides predictive maintenance intelligence that estimates performance loses and diagnoses causes. The service was designed to help operation managers and owners of solar energy systems including energy service companies, increasing energy production performance by 5%, decreasing maintenance costs by 10% and optimizing human workload by 60%.

Using mobile payments and iot technology the solar energy system is initially financed by selling phone charger services to the wider community. Furthermore, the solar4schools system enables schools to stop using kerosene and candles, so it is cleaner and enable schools to reduce carbon emission by 91% per year. The community will also benefit by not having to walk 2-10km to the town for phone charging, but rather go to the school, which in turn will place schools at the centre of the community...
