1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020
Green Ambassador wrote: Green ambassador - the modern solution to urban gardening. If you've ever had your own garden to tend to, you know how time-intensive even just a small plant of basil can be. Out of this frustration, green ambassador was created. Solar panels collect and store energy in a highly efficient battery pack, while a smart humidity sensor in the soil measures and decides if watering is needed and turns on the pumps if so. It is a smart and beautiful gardening solution, which fits easily onto any wall and transforms it into an urban oasis. In short: urban gardening made easy... To do this we've invented a method&educational board game which is based on the processes of item production, our usage habits, educating about the environmental impact, circular thinking and recycling options. Today, more than 500 years later, pelenergy is revolutionizing the way greenhouses are heated. We have developed a unique method of capturing and storing solar heat for use on demand. Our system arrives in a shipping container which has been specially designed to be easily moved and assembled, and is compatible with any standard greenhouse system. The low initial cost and maintenance, along with no fuel expenses helps growers increase profits while providing a fast return on investment... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Light blue bag wrote: Our solution proposes to process all types of plastics that we dispose of daily and what ends up in landfills and the environment, to turn them into new products. It is made up of 2 parts: education and awareness in society; and the final disposal of all these plastic wastes. The first part is to urge citizens to separate plastic waste from all the others we produce daily, without worrying about the way in which they dispose of this waste, if they should be washed and dried. We will use a plastic bag of a different color than those used to separate waste such as paper and glass... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon
