1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030
These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.
These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

Our team is focused on fogponics – the most advanced vertical farming technology so far. This innovative agriculture technology doesn’t use any soil, circular system doesn’t waste any resources - we are talking up to 95% less water and 50% less fertilizer than industrial farming. Since farming with our modules will be done indoors, your produce will be safe from harm. There will be no need for nasty pest control chemicals, there will be no fear of bad weather, floods and droughts... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

The solution is developed as a small-scale and localised/distributed gasification of agricultural and municipal solid waste. The waste comes with a high level of inorganic matter. The organic matter can be further utilized for energy production which could offset the need for some fossil-fueled energy production.

At the workshops, children would realize how fun recycling is and how much it would contribute to their future quality of life. In addition, they would further educate residential tenants' representatives for the proper disposal of large waste. They would inform their roommates of the proper disposal method. The other thing they would improve is the existing application. The user would receive certain discounts (such as coupons at mcdonalds) for recording properly disposed waste and scanning barcodes for recycling... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon
