1000 innovative clean energy solutions and > 150 framework enablers with the potential to deliver more than twelve gigatonnes of avoided emissions by 2030

These assessments are based on a basic avoided emission assessment. The overall concept of avoided emissions is that a solution (product or service) enables the same function to be performed with significantly less GHG emissions. The method of measuring avoided emissions, is to compare a baseline scenario without the enabling solution, with a scenario using the enabling solution; whereby the baseline represents the ‘business as usual’ (BAU) scenario.

These assessments are based on the framework document: The Avoided Emissions Framework (AEF) from September 2020

The self-watering wall-garden

The self-watering wall-garden

Green Ambassador wrote: Green ambassador - the modern solution to urban gardening. If you've ever had your own garden to tend to, you know how time-intensive even just a small plant of basil can be. Out of this frustration, green ambassador was created. Solar panels collect and store energy in a highly efficient battery pack, while a smart humidity sensor in the soil measures and decides if watering is needed and turns on the pumps if so. It is a smart and beautiful gardening solution, which fits easily onto any wall and transforms it into an urban oasis. In short: urban gardening made easy... Green Aqua

Green Aqua wrote: India is having 4% of world's fresh water, out of which 80% is used in agriculture. Green aqua will enable traditional farmers to transform their agriculture practices into sustainable method of farming by mimicking natural ecosystem in the farm environment. Our idea works on very basic principle of nitrogen cycle. Water with fish excreta is used as a source of nutrition and the same water is being recirculated for growing fish and vegetables and thereby saving 95% of water. Chemical pesticide usage is another pain point which leaves its residue on leaves and different parts of plants... Source: EIT Climate KIC's ClimateLaunchPad

Green Bang Snacks

Green Bang Snacks

Green Bang Snacks wrote: Green bang snacks is a company based in clean country with low pollution levels. It is lithuania. We started this company in order to produce organic healthy foods at an affordable price and do impact in food production technologies, food packaging technologies, achieve 0 waste emission, reduce ghg's and do impact on desertification by restoring forests. Right now we are working on plant-based organic snacks made from freeze dried berries, veggies and sprouted-roasted chick peas. We chose vegan snacks because plant-based food production need less resources and releases less ghg's. "the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. Sharing economy platform for b2b goods

Sharing economy platform for b2b goods

Green Cargo Network wrote: Green cargo network provides a software that functions as a fleet management system and a marketplace for b2b goods transportation for a percentage of the assignment revenue. We bring the sharing economy to goods transportation by connecting freight companies and businesses in a distributed network, thus allowing for better customer-transporter matching while preserving economies of scale. The service provided increases a transportation company's vehicle capacity utilization and reduces operational costs through optimized customer matching, integrated vehicle routing planning and smart contracting... Make Nyíregyháza greener

Green Day wrote: As an answer that we concluded we should have a community centre, office which deals with local orders, management of parks, green zones and issues about the general public being uninformed and unbothered. The general person only rarely hears about these issues in the news or the radio, but most of the time continues to ignore the facts. This is one of the biggest problems– people are uninterested, especially the elderly, because they keep saying that they won't be around for long anyway and that it's not their problem anymore. But in fact, everything they do still adds up and continues to pollute the earth. We believe that there has to be a place, an initiative that informs and moves people, teaches them and makes them act... Source: EIT Climate KIC's Climathon

Geothermal building cooling system

Geothermal building cooling system

Geothermal Cooling System by Green India Building Systems and Services Pvt. Ltd. (GIBSS) is an innovative technology that replaces the rejection of heat to ambient air in the conventional systems by the rejection of heat to ground. In conventional air-conditioning systems, the cooling efficiency depends on atmospheric temperature. If the atmospheric temperatures are higher, efficiency of the air-conditioning system is lower and vice versa. The key innovation behind Geothermal Cooling System is the designing of a heat exchanger system that uses the earth temperature, which is much lower than atmospheric temperature to reject the heat. Lower temperatures significantly improve the efficiencies of the air-conditioning systems.
